It is not with Icarian hubris that we are proud to introduce the Cyllarus Overdrive MK1. Sprouted from the roots of a very popular boutique overdrive whose hype was not of the designers making, the Cyllarus sports improvements many have sought from the original circuit.

Equipped with Gain, Level, Treble and Bass controls, the Cyllarus is beyond versatile. Gone is the limited picky single band treble control, and a custom designed highly expressive 2 band Treble/Bass control replaces it. This eq takes notes from my amplifier building roots and allows for a greater spectrum of control when given different guitars (or basses), and to handle different amplifiers/rooms. There is more maximum gain on tap to better handle under-wound pickups, or to have even more dynamic range with standard/hot winds.

The Cyllarus Overdrive MK1 is equipped with USA made Switchcraft jacks for reliable operation, and our tried and true click-less bypass system. This circuit allows for easy and silent effect switching, but also momentary operation for when you just need a little.

Handmade in New Haven, CT.

Common questions

My pedal isn't powering on — what should I check?

Make sure you're using a 9V DC center-negative power supply (standard for most effects). If the LED doesn't light, test another supply or cable.

Can I run it at higher voltage?

Yes — the Cyllarus is rated 12V/18V safe.

The effect sounds weak or noisy.

Check cables and power first. On a daisy chain, try isolating the pedal on a clean, regulated output. Placement in your signal chain also shapes the tone — try moving it earlier or later.

What's the warranty?

Limited lifetime coverage for defects in materials and workmanship. If service is ever needed, most repairs turn around in 7–10 business days.

Under the hood

A 2-band EQ with amp roots

A custom, highly expressive Treble/Bass control born from our amplifier building — more control across guitars, basses, amps and rooms.

More gain on tap

Better handles under-wound pickups, and gives even more dynamic range with standard or hot winds.

A boost in disguise

Gain at 9 o'clock with the top end open turns it into a bright, harmonic clean boost — the 'Sparkle' setting straight from the manual.

Don't take our word for it
From the bench

Every Dual Stage pedal gets built, tested and put through its paces on the same bench it was designed on — then backed by our limited lifetime warranty. If it ever quits on you, it comes home and we fix it.
